Art Nouveau 14kt Diamond Ruby Bow Ring, Size 5.75, 5.88 gr, Early 1900's
Art Nouveau 14kt Diamond & Ruby Bow Ring, 5.88 grams, 5 rubies and 4 diamonds with a bow motiff. This 14k yellow gold ruby diamond ring dates to the early 1900's with multi-stones and its bow motif. The period is known for Hollywood-inspired, larger-than-life jewelry, and this ring is just that. There is a larger diamond in the center at appx. 2.5 mm with a curved accent of five rubies that are appx. 1.8 mm and then on a lower setting there is a curved accent with three diamonds that are appx. 2 mm across. Measurements are not exact due to setting - depth cannot be measured and the setting hides the girdle so the measurements are estimates taken with a digital caliper. The appx. weight of the stones are that there is .25 ctw in diamonds and in rubies. I can see that one of the rubies does have an area where there is wear and chipping but it takes the loupe to see it. You do not see it when you are just looking at the ring. The curved area where the tree diamonds are is white gold for drama and effect. This is a solidly made ring which was made to be worn. It has a looped bow off to one side. Tiered with a lot going on in this ring which was part of what the era was known for. It is a 5.75 and can be sized up by your jeweler. The band is also ornate in that it has the look of two bands with what looks like it starts down from the setting of the ring and has a small point on each side of the finger where the double band effect starts. The band is appx. 3.9 mm and tapers down to 2.6mm at the back of the finger. It is a truly vintage piece that you'd love to know its history but step back in time with this ring. It will be noticed when worn as it is not something you see everyday. Good to very good condition for it's over 100 years with only some stone wear that is visible by loupe but not by the eye. Marked 14kt and tested. See photos. (Lot. W.2.1619.G.18X - LD 5/1/19.
We carry mostly vintage jewelry across all themes in my stores and listings. We have our own store and are and have been known as stampshopgirl in Ebay and have been since I think 2003. At one point we had a gift shop/rubber stamping store and switched over to vintage jewelry about six years ago on a full time basis, which also including taking and completing gemology classes as well as jewelry appraisal studies. We carry limited other vintage items and am trying to change our presence to marias vintage and estate treasures. You may see both names until the migration is complete. You can find us on pinterest where all ebay items and other venues are categorized - mariasvinta0654.
If the item is over $50.00 for international mailing will need be sent with insurance at the buyer’s cost. That may require separate invoicing. If selling through Ebay, Global shipping is required.
WE DO NOT STORE FINE METALS AND GEMSTONES ON PREMISES. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT QUESTIONS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE ANSWERED IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU.
Thank you for stopping by, mariasvintage.
Please note that most of my photos are taken at 10X magnification. This shows any blemishes much more magnified than they really are.
I keep great notes about each item and can answer most questions quickly, but I do not store fine jewelry on premises, so answers about specific measurements may take some time as I arrange to inspect the piece again.
In addition to this website, Maria's Vintage, I am on eBay as stampshopgirl, on Etsy as stampshopgirl, and on StorEnvy as Maria's. I have many vintage jewelry items and other vintage and new items - a very wide variety.
I will combine shipping, even if you buy items from one of my other stores. If you purchase one item and know you’ll be picking more, just email me and let me know and I will ship them at the same time and refund the shipping over the combined limit.
Given the number of different items I carry it is hard to know what combination of items can be purchased to pre-plan the shipping, so just email me and we will work it out to save you shipping charges whenever possible.
