Vintage Jewelry:   Vintage Egyptian Scarab Revival 1920's Hand Painted Brooch.  It is a large oval that is about 2.25" long and 1.75" wide.  It is gold painted with black flecks on a surface that is pastel shades in peach, blue, lavender, green - I'm not sure if it is porcelain or glass - I think glass.  To me, it looks like the surface was painted as the edges in the gold and place and then the scarab was created by removing the gold and black from the desired areas with black lines added to create more defined features.  It is held on the base with 6 prongs.  The pinback is typical art deco in that the pin is pat of the back and not attached to it with a C closure and a pin that extends just shy of the edge of the pin instead of beyond it like the Victorian era.  This is a rare and unique piece - may be the only one as it was clearly hand painted - it was very hard to find similar ones but I did - just not like this.  Given that it is painted it is in very good condition with no wear of the paint and no rust or color change on the pinback itself.  This belonged to a woman who traveled the world.  I found this beauty at a Pennsylvania estate auction. I was fortunate enough to get other pieces of the collection but nothing else in this same flavor.

International priority by location (so that it can be tracked/insured). Additional jewelry purchases will be shipped at no additional shipping charge.

Surface flaws and size may appear larger as I do magnify photos but do not enhance them - it is simply point and click.

Please note that most of my photos are taken at 10X magnification. This shows any blemishes much more magnified than they really are.

I keep great notes about each item and can answer most questions quickly, but I do not store fine jewelry on premises, so answers about specific measurements may take some time as I arrange to inspect the piece again.

I will combine shipping, even if you buy items from one of my other stores. If you purchase one item and know you’ll be picking more, just email me and let me know and I will ship them at the same time and refund the shipping over the combined limit.

Given the number of different items I carry it is hard to know what combination of items can be purchased to pre-plan the shipping, so just email me and we will work it out to save you shipping charges whenever possible.
