Antique 9kt Opal & Sapphire Domed Ring, Sz. 7, Old Mine Cut. 8 pear/teardrop shaped opals that are appx. 5mm by 3.5mm. An appx. 2.7mm blue old mine cut sapphire on top, bezel set with 8 smaller blue sapphires bezel-set below the upper stone that are appx. 1.2mm. On the outer lower frame of the ring between the points of the opals are 8 more blue sapphires, old mine cut that are appx. 2.5mm. The band is appx. 3mm around the finger with a curved accent on top closest to the setting. The ring is not marked in any way. The metal has been tested multiple times and tests between 9kt and 10kt. Weight of the ring is appx. 5.33 gr. The undercarriage is a coiled design. From the base of the undercarriage to the top sapphire it is appx. 13.5mm. The top of the ring is round and appx. 19.5mm across. This has a bit fo a primitive design in that the bezels are not perfect. I found a very similar ring to this listed at $903.00 - same stone count just slightly different accents on the stone. Best guess this is a Victorian Era ring in good condition, no wear on the gold surfaces as you see in plated rings and does test as 9kt - 10kt solid gold, yellow gold. The construction also dates it to an earlier ring. (INV. W.82121.8X8 SS J LD 9/5/21).
